Shabby Chic Wedding Ideas

Hello gelato lovers!!

We are celebrating our 1 year anniversary in the wedding Industry by sharing with you our tops picks for everything you or someone you know may need to make that big day memorable and unique.

Our gelato cart has been the icing on the cake (dessert metaphor!) at so many differently themed weddings over the last year. As you would expect, those with one great idea/element usually bring two, three, four, five or even, six to the table at the same time.

We have been both a weddings elegant highlight, or the dessert link in a large display of individual laid back food options.

We come home from most events discussing what we would add to our ever forming “hypothetical second wedding”.

We now have some key elements planned out, which we are very excited to share with you:

Our theme, of course, falls under the raging trend of the stylish, yet relaxed air of the “Shabby Chic” Wedding.

~ Our venue choice was found by Andrea late last year. It is a large barn in the Barwon Heads area, with simple, rustic finishes that beautifully allow you to put in place your own styling. The area is like a crisp white canvas, mounted inside a rich red gum frame, aged with the salty breeze from the nearby beaches.  ~ THE BARN

~ Just before Christmas, we stumbled upon these guys at Happy Camper Pizza. Their renovated Airstream Camper is an absolute standout in both design and vibe when it comes to portable food. Like our carts, with the right styling, this Camper can blend in with abounding elegance, or find it’s place next to a bonfire circle of mismatched folding chairs. Take one look at their gallery, and forget the Camper and it’s atmosphere, you will be sold on every single picture of their pizza! ~ HAPPY CAMPER PIZZA

~ Being placed next to these guys at One Fine Day 2013, was the beginning of a great catering combination in our eyes. Little did we know the number of couples that felt the same way. It wasn’t long before we found ourselves standing side by side, as Daniel from Beer Gypsies helped us get ourselves out of a very sticky (muddy!) situation at one weddings bush venue earlier this year! Beside bringing their stylish portable bar and it’s outstanding choice of delicious beverages, these guys bring that kind of professional fun that adds flavour to any type of wedding night.

So there it is, in the weekends of weddings upon weddings, the three elements that have resonated with us from the moment we first spotted them, till now writing this post. We’ll be aiming to get them altogether for that second wedding of ours, alongside a paddock full of gelato carts and a few other treasures we are yet to find…and you’re all invited!

GELATO CARTS BABY!

What a joy to be back in 2022 doing what we LOVE! With our fleet of gelato carts forced into hibernation for a couple of years it has been such a pleasure to dust them off, shine them up, and roll them out at so many weddings, parties and events over the last couple of months! While we aren’t quite back to pre-pandemic madness we are definitely out in full force serving our authentic Italian gelato to hundreds of events

NEW WEEKEND HOURS FOR ELWOOD

To our wonderful customers – what a ride our little weekend bake shop has been! We (Andy and Fiona) have enjoyed every minute – sharing our passion for Italian food and meeting so many of you in our community who we don’t normally get to see! Sadly, we have had to put the bake shop aside for the moment to commit to other projects. We are always innovating and pushing forward at Biancolatte so that you can keep enjoying our

WEBSITE ORDERING NOW AVAILABLE!

Over the next few months you’ll see some changes happening on our website – one of them is already in place and that’s our NEW online ordering system! But first, a little history about the site. The original biancolatte website – much of which is still live – was designed by husband and wife team Andrea and Camille Di Fiore in 2012. How cute is it that the whole site is designed like a gelato cart, and carries the original

Cannoli

MELBOURNE’S BEST CANNOLI

IT STARTED as a collaboration between two Italian boys – Andy from Milan and a mate from Sicily. The research went deep – trying cannoli all around Sicily, training from the best pastry chefs in small towns that tourists would never find. The result is a unique and sublime pastry, filled with a silky smooth ricotta that is not ultra-traditional, but preferred everywhere we’ve looked. That dough with lashings of sweet marsala, a touch of cinnamon and layered to give
